FAQ'S

Age / Abilities
The law allows children to participate in the sport of shooting from the age of 12. We will make an individual assessment of every participant to determine their capabilities. Instruction is always one-on-one and very controlled from a safety perspective. We will never allow a participant to handle a firearm (or type of firearm) if we are not comfortable with their ability to handle it safely. Shooting is also suitable for people who have physical impairments. However, note that access to the underground range does require use of stairs.

Who can Participate
We take safety and our sports reputation seriously, and we only permit responsible people to participate. Legally, participants must not be a Prohibited Person. Additionally, Firearms Laws only permit an individual to participate in handgun shooting a maximum of 10 times before deciding to obtain a handgun licence (or a maximum of 3 times if the person is under 18). If you love the sport and therefore keep coming back, the best way of overcoming this restriction is to obtain your handgun license and become a sporting shooter!

SCOUTS AND COMMUNITY SHOOTS
Our club members are passionate about helping the community (many volunteer their time for a range of causes) and promoting the sport of handgun shooting. They are happy to donate their time to run Introductory Handgun Shoots for Scouting Groups and other like-minded Community Organisations.

We tailor each event to the participants. Generally speaking though, each session consists of:

-
Briefing and training session explaining handguns, shooting techniques and safety.
-
1-on-1 instructing on the range. Close Supervision.
-
Shooting experience with a range of handguns chosen based on their suitability for the age and skill of the group.
